Caravaggio in Rimini

Come to see Caravaggio in Rimini: it will be a very special experience! From 23 October fron 27 March in Rimini, Castel Sismondo.
The Ecstasy of San Francesco, on show at Castel Sismondo, is a peculiar chef d’oeuvre for two reasons : it is the first religious painting of Michelangelo Merisi and it is in Europe for the first time. It comes from Wadsworth Atheneum Museum, the most ancient American museum famous for the good deal of masterpieces of the 16th and 17th century  and it’s in Rimini on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the death of Caravaggio. This work of art will be shown together with other masterpieces of Matisse, Picasso, Klee, Magritte, Dalì, Ernst, Pollock and many other painters of the 16th century.
