Spring in Rimini
Rimini is beautiful when the air begins to sweeten and the colours reawaken. There are still very few people around, the sea smells of salt and the countryside explodes with fragrances. This is the best period to visit the historic villages of the hinterland, which are loaded with mystery. San Leo with its fortress overhanging sheer cliffs and the fantastic history of Cagliostro, Montebello with its mythical ghost, Verrucchio, Torriana, Montefiore… all beautiful and not to be missed. For nature lovers, we suggest a trip to Onferno to visit the caves which host the biggest colony of bats in Italy… a real adventure! Spring is also the best time to have an aperitif outside in one of the small bars on the beach, or enjoy a piadina in the hills of Covignano. Just ask us for suggestions!
I’ll let you in on a secret
“Balconi Fioriti (Balconies in flower) takes place in Santarcangelo di Romagna in May, and this charming event is well worth a look. The town centre is transformed into a splash of colour and festivity. Take advantage of the opportunity to wander around the town, discovering the narrow laneways which lead to the torre dell’orologio (clock tower).”
